It's a challenge for Australia to achieve unprecedented feats.

The top summits have already been conquered.

This is the unit that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to an additional six T20 titles, and once went 1,294 days unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, the ones sought by the peak baggers, are all that remain for a squad that has won it all.

The fact it required up to Sunday's success by three wickets over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase over 300, regaining their record for the biggest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, honestly, a testament to the pitchers that have worn canary yellow over the last half-century.

It's difficult for their batters to hold a record if not afforded the opportunity.

Finally, the outcome of Australia conceding 330 was skipper Alyssa Healy receiving a chance to deliver her latest masterpiece.

Originally famous as the 19-year-old niece of famous ex Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she first played in 2010 after her country couldn't capture either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups from the prior year and has witnessed all through 15 trophy-laden years since.

A T20 championship victory happened three months after her bow and seven international trophies have followed from 10 attempts across formats.

The determined wicketkeeper was in attendance in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final setback by India momentarily interrupted the winning streak.

That loss "drove us to rethink our standards," Healy said this week.

At the subsequent ODI World Cup in New Zealand, Healy scored 170 against England in the title decider and was declared player of the series. She ensured her country would not fail again.

Whether this recent magnificent innings topped that previous effort remains open for discussion.

Many contend the case for the pressure of a final. Different voices suggest with the challenge that comes when pursuing an unprecedented total and a raucous India-supporting crowd of 20,000.

What's clear is this ton was much more difficult to anticipate.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 occurred when she was the highest scorer, but this performance followed six innings in India since the start of last month in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"If you've observed me in the nets, it has been a challenging time because it appeared my form was missing completely," commented Healy.

"However when you enter the playing area, your fighting spirit activate and you just lock into the contest."

Healy's fighting spirit has always been her major advantage - and a priceless quality in taking over from famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

She was challenged by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in last month's ODI series, dismissed by the emerging pace bowler in every game, but on this occasion it simply offered Healy's spark.

A single was taken off the bowler's initial ball and after that Healy was underway.

"The possibility to go out there and engage in competition with her and simply enjoy myself in that aspect, sort of got me going," stated Healy.

She got to fifty in 35 pitches - her swiftest at the World Cup - and her ton in 84 balls as she attacked short-pitched balls, hitting 21 fours and three big hits.

By the time she was dismissed Australia needed 66 additional runs at one run per ball - an achievable target now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"Chasing 330 runs is uncharted waters so I'm pleased we have the assurance to accomplish that now," continued Healy.

"Ideally we won't need to repeat it but, should it happen, we are confident we can succeed."

Those words will be the ultimate thing Australia's opponents at this World Cup should hear.

During the last week a sense they will triumph from any situation has only strengthened - this triumph following win against Pakistan by 107 runs despite being 76-7 at one stage.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before a match against old rivals England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a semi-final place may well be secure.

During that phase they were eliminated from the prior year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - an encounter Healy missed because of ruptured tissue in her foot as she led her country for the initial instance at an important competition.

So great is her will, she later said she wished she had played despite the injury.

Yet even as she afterwards confessed those physical issues have postponed plans to retire, this tournament is likely to be her concluding event as leader in one-day cricket and she is hasn't yet secured an international tournament as skipper.

Triumph in India would bring her to the top of her final mountain.
