19 of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been earned on hard surfaces
A resurgent Medvedev won his initial title for nearly 30 months with a win over opponent Moutet in the competition final.
The athlete, a former top-ranked player, has endured a difficult period, achieving just one match at the major tournaments and suffering a difficult moment at the New York tournament.
Medvedev's unpredictability on the tennis tour - and struggles with his serve in especial - resulted in him dropping out of the top ten and finally parting ways with long-term mentor his previous coach.
Presently training with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually progressed in the recent weeks - climaxing in a closely contested three-set victory over challenger Moutet.
This marks his initial trophy since the Italian tournament and maiden on a hard surface from spring of 2023.
The win also indicates Medvedev has won 21 victories at twenty-one different tournaments.
"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a event with my children simultaneously, so to get a trophy is particularly special," stated world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.
"This championship is in dedication of my younger daughter her name, because the maiden victory I won when my first daughter my daughter was born was for her."
The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his past six championship matches, comprising in that event in the past months.
Medvedev's defensive strategy and frequent emotional displays on the tennis court had prompted commentators to doubt if his capacity to perform at the top level was concluded.
But the player has altered his approach in the last few weeks, attempting to come to the net and play positively, supported by an enhanced serve.
Medvedev fought back from a disadvantage in the initial set against the challenging opponent, securing 4 of the last five exchanges to take the lead.
The pair traded break points in the second set before Moutet, striving for his initial tour victory, took control to create a third set.
The opponent saved four early-game break points in a close final set before the champion won the break to fifteen to secure the win.
Fittingly, Medvedev secured the title with a point at the net, with Moutet failing to manage a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
