Assassin's Creed Introduces Bizarre Attack on Titan Crossover for Thanksgiving
In a surprising crossover event that breaks usual expectations, the game developer has announced an virtual collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected Thanksgiving event runs from November 25 through December 22, providing no-cost bonus story content for Shadows players.
Strange Questline Revealed
According to the formal release, "An unusual encounter pulls characters Naoe and Yasuke into a original adventure, where whispers of prohibited ceremonies and monstrous metamorphoses echo through the darkness." The plot introduces a "unusually garbed woman named Ada" who charges the characters with venturing into the Gemstone Grotto—a important location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her companion from a clandestine cult.
The questline centers on "peculiar trials and a fearsome enemy" and is accessible to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Iconic Locations and Transformations
The preview showcases the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was previously where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The teaser ends with a powerful moment showing a character, probably the prisoner, changing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Items and Extra Material
Players who successfully complete the quest will receive an exclusive katana alongside several artifacts secreted throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also features premium Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-inspired costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa costume for Naoe
- Exclusive weapons
- Survey Corps vehicle
Third Free Story Addition
This update also brings the game's newest free story addition, titled "The Mystery." This playful mission pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange characteristic skills: Naoe debuts a dramatic interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires subduing stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "A Puzzlement" also features a original environmental puzzle that may finally explain some unanswered questions from the main storyline.
